Inauguration at Kottur Village, Thirumalvadi PO, Palacode Tk, Dharmapuri Dt on Sunday 2nd Jan 2011 at 3.00 pm by Sri N.Rajendran B.A.B.L, Correspondent, Dawn Matric Hr. Sec. School, Dharmapuri. Swami Tyagarajanandaji (President, Ramakrishna Math, Nattarampalli) presides.

The Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math Headquarters has undertaken to cover 150 neglected areas/units under this project through various Branches of Ramakrishna Mission and  Ramakrishna Math spread all over India . This is a four-year project commencing  from January  2011.
          The target group will be poor children upto 12 years old. The group size will be not more than 100 children.

Aim : Physical, Mental and Intellectual development of children.

Physical Development

  1. To provide

i) the malnourished children daily milk, nutrient supplements (like purak-ahar made of soya bean, groundnut, oil, bajra, besan and molassses) vitamin tablets.
ii) School uniforms, note books, texts books, etc
iii) Basic training on health and hygiene, like toilet practice, necessity of safe drinking water, brushing teeth, washing hands, clipping nails, etc.

  1. Games and Exercise: To encourage the children to take part in games and sports, to do regular exercise.
  2. Health check-up: To take body weight and height monthly, check vision.

Mental Development
To impart :

  1. Aesthetic sense: By providing training on music, drama, Vedic and Gita chanting etc.
  2. Value Education

i) Theory: To discuss the lives of great men and women, national heroes; showing them Ramayana, Mahabharata and inspirational movies.
ii) Practice: To encourage the children participate in campus cleaning, classroom cleaning, watering plants, community services, etc.

Intellectual Development
          To provide coaching to the children for the four years after completion of which they may join good schools.

          The children will be supplied books, study materials, school bag, footwear, school uniform, toiletry (tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, oil). Sports items will be provided for their play and games. Mats also will be supplied. Projector, Screen will be provided to show educational CDs. Two Teachers will be appointed to take tuition and give coaching in their subjects. One attendant will be appointed to prepare milk and tiffin every day.
          Children will be served tiffin and milk every day. This may be three-hour program every evening.
