VIVEKANANDA LITERARY COMPETITION 2012 - 13 SALEM, NAMAKKAL & DHARMAPURI DISTRICTS GOVT & GOVT AIDED SCHOOL, CORPORATION SCHOOL & COLLEGES

Salem Ashrama launched, 'Salem District Swami Vivekananda Literary
Competition' for school and College students on Friday, 29 June 2012 from 3.00 to
5.00 pm at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Valasiyur.

We are distributing four titles totalling 1,00,000 copies (in Tamil)

Vivekanandarin Vazhiyil (in four colours - 56 pages)
- 70,000 copies

Pudhiya Indiyavai Padaippom
- 10,000 copies

Vivekanandar Azhaikkirar
- 10,000 copies

Manavarkalukku Vivekanandar
- 10,000 copies

Salem Ashrama printed 80,000 books specially for the occasion and purchased
20,000 books from Chennai Ramakrishna Math.

We are distributing to Govt. Schools, Corporation schools, Govt-aided schools and
Colleges. This will cover villages, rural places -to reach Swami Vivekananda's ideals
to the unreached - poor students.

Books are distributed free of cost. Each school will get 300 books. The teachers of
the respective schools themselves will conduct the exam ( competition), correct the
answer papers and send the results to the Ashrama.

As on date, we have distributed 36,000 books to 134 schools and 12 Colleges.( We
have distributed books for 3300 College students studying in 12 Colleges)

As on date, 16 schools have conducted competition and have sent us the results.
In each group three prizes will be given.

Everyday an average of 16 schools are distributed books at their place and school
premises.

Sri. P. Sivanantham, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Sri Narasu's Coffee
Company Ltd released the books. Sri. K.Sugavanam, Headmaster, Govt. Boys
Higher Secondary School, Valasaiyur. received the first copy.

Sri Nellaiyappan, Tamil Scholar and Sri Balu addressed the gathering.

We will cover 1,00,000 students in three months from June 2012 - distribution and
conduct of exams.
